The Beginning of a Career
In the 1980s, while having a play debut in a festival of work by Boston-area playwrights, I volunteered to take on promotion for the festival and managed to fill the theater with paying customers for all six nights—on a minuscule promotional budget.
For years the festival had drawn an audience of about ten people a night. That year we drew over a hundred every night.
It turned out to be the beginning of a career in marketing communications that continues to this day.
Over the years, although many of my clients have had ample budgets (Microsoft, IBM, Wells Fargo Bank, McGraw Hill Publishing, HP, and Harvard University), much of my writing has been for one- and two-person startups and other small businesses, helping them make the most of limited resources, just as I did with the festival.

Highlights of my work, for organizations large and small
Interviewing several IBM executives to write “thought-leader” articles and a half dozen solution summaries that remained on the IBM website, with my co-bylines, for three years.
Writing four key web pages for a leading real estate marketing company, housevalues.com, three of which were still in use, without significant changes, five years later. I did the same thing for an elite executive recruiting firm.
Being hired to write material promoting the writing services of three different firms composed of professional writers . A tough crowd of critics. But they were all happy with the results. I’ve also written web content, releases, and other materials promoting four companies offering digital marketing services.
I lived in the Boston area for many years, moved to California in 2001, and then returned to live in Framingham, MA in the summer of 2017.
I’ve concentrated on B2B website content writing, but I’m experienced with a broad range of media
In addition to web content, blogs, articles, case studies, releases, brochures, email/direct mail campaigns, and online/print/broadcast/ATM/billboard advertising, I have
